Tobacco Plants
These things, for the most part anyway, get very large. Many people are not aware of the beauty of the flowers when the form at the top of the plant. Long, funneled white or pink flowers are produced in abundance. Many years ago, I was driving thru South Carolina on a sultry summer night with the windows open. The warm, humid air was rich with this sweet perfume that I could not identify. I knew it was coming from the fields I was passing thru, but being dark, I could not see what the source of that fragrance was. Since I was young and brave, I stopped my car and walked into the field in near pitch blackness. As a (former) Yankee, I hadn't any idea what I was looking at; Corn was pretty much all I had ever grown up with. I peered closely at the luminous clusters of white flowers and realized by their structure it must be tobacco. How very cool I thought (I was easily impressed back then). Anyway, after all these years, this memory has stuck with me and I decided to randomly choose some tobacco varieties to try. You can grow tobacco in most all states if you time it correctly. My guess is that these plants will be ready about mid-April. I will try to keep everybody posted as to how they are developing and when I feel they can be shipped. I would suggest doing a bit of research about growing these- information is readily available. Since it is not first hand experience by me, I wont do some cut and paste job here and pretend it is me. Maybe you will have a new hobby growing your own tobacco. I understand lots of people are doing it. Myself? I doubt I will go buy a corn-cob pipe but one never knows, right?
Remember, due to the slightly longer grow out period, Tobacco will probably not be ready until mid-April. Please feel free to contact me to check on availability if you are considering including it with your early tomato order. I will get back with you right away.

Little Dutch
Different from most tobaccos because of its short, stout growth. Leaves are quite narrow and used primarily for cigar manufacture. This is a pre 1880 variety that is rarely grown and originated in Germany. Probably a good one to grow as an ornamental (as are all tobaccos) due to its shorter stature.

Kelly Burley
A muti-use variety with medium sized leaves that grow in a rather open, upright fashion. This 5+ footer would look very nice at the back of a flower bed I suspect.
