This big red ribbed heritage French variety was introduced in to the USA in 1992. Sometimes the fruit are absolutely huge- a 2 pound fruit is not out of the question. The vines too are large and leafy. Just a big ol, healthy plant. Now the flavor is something remarkable. You hear the term "old timey" when describing flavor. Coustralle would be a good example. Give a nod to the French and grow this one!
