I haven't a clue where the "submarine" part comes into play, BUT certainly if you want a yellow grape shaped cherry with outstanding flavor, you will want Yellow Submarine. A full flavored little firecracker. This is an excellent replacement for the horrid "Yellow Pear". Nearly impossible to find anymore, you should give this a try. You will also notice this is a Potato leaf cultivar. ​
