Ok, here we go...the weirdest, funnest tomato I have grown. What a funky fun little mess this is! The name, from what I understand, comes from the fact that you can actually break the segments away from the fruit and people used to carry them in their pockets. You really can! Each segment breaks away rather easily but will not leave a goopy mess like what you would expect. I loved picking them. I had read that they were flavored like crap. How very wrong! I found them to be very rich and tangy- delicious in fact! This plant, I believe, is probably a slightly different species from garden tomatoes- much like the class of Currant tomatoes. I say this due to the way it grows- its foliage and its soft, rampant growth. I noticed the difference immediately upon germination. Another interesting thing I noticed was that when this plant is done for the season, it is DONE! It just falls over dead- no lingering in the twilight zone like so many other varieties. I have to say, if you want to be a show off in your garden, try this one. If you have kids, they should be amused (and maybe horrified). Two thumbs up from me.
