Yeah, the name is a bit obvious....Porterhouse...steak...beefsteak....duh. You know what? This is a REALLY nice plant. Sometimes the term "beefsteak" is a bit over used. I have grown many varieties that seemed to have very little beefsteak qualities to them (huge, goofy looking fruit) though the breeders attach the term to them. Porterhouse is the real deal, much like Big Boy. I am impressed with the overall vigor of this variety. Of course, the flavor is terrific. So, if you like the big ones for massive slices, give Porterhouse a try.
