Purchasing & Shipping

Mail order for the 2021 season has officially ended. Thank you to everyone who purchased and asked questions. We'll see you next year!

Shipping season will begin around the first week of April this year for folks in the southern states. For you Yankees, between May 1st and the 15th will be your shipping season. When placing your order, please enter your desired ship date in the notes section at checkout. If you miss this step, we'll be contacting you to get that information so that we don't send your plants too early or too late! I try to do most of my shipping Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of each week.

Farm Visitors:

All tomatoes, eggplants, and peppers are grown in a commercial 3.5" pot (18 per flat) and cost $1.75 per plant. Orders may be placed online for pickup next day, or scheduled in the future. At checkout, choose Pickup for your Order Fulfillment and select your desired pickup date. We will have your order ready for you.

Mail Order:

The pricing is the same at $1.75 per plant.
Shipping will begin about April 1st.
I have changed the cell size I am growing mail order plants in.  This will allow you to purchase more more plants and taking advantage of our low prices without a jump in shipping cost. This will take careful management on our part to make certain we have all of our hundreds of tomato varieties in both mail order size and walk in size.  I am confident this will work to save money for you folks.  The plants should be only marginally smaller than what I would have shipped prior.
I detest shipping cost and do whatever I can to lower them. We have worked out the bugs with USPS on auto calculation at check out. This should offer the best shipping price to all customers based on your location and box size. We are using 3 day priority shipping to make certain your plants get to you as quickly as possible. When placing your order, please enter your desired ship date in the notes section at checkout. If you miss this step, we'll be contacting you to get that information so that we don't send your plants too early or too late!

For those of you who haven't ever ordered tomato plants by mail, no worries! They are tough and ship easily.
Btw, if you are curious, go dig around online and look at the cost of the same mail order plants we sell for $1.75- you will fall over backwards.  How does $6-10 bucks each strike you? And the shipping...holy cow. I wont get rich but at least I can sleep at night.

YOUR ORDER IS 100% GUARANTEED.  And I mean it.

Shipping Costs:

This year, we are using USPS to do all shipping for mail order customers. Your shipping cost will be determined by your location and the amount of plants that you order. We have three box sizes. The small box holds 16 plants, the medium box holds 32 plants, and the large box holds up to 55 plants. Make certain that you order within these quantities to maximize your value on shipping.  There isn't any minimum on quantity or quantity per variety.  Order what you need but again, the shipping is based on box size, that part does not change. I can easily accommodate larger orders buy you will have to bypass the ordering system and contact us directly.

Your shipping cost will be displayed to you before you place your order. When placing your order, please enter your desired ship date in the notes section at checkout. If you miss this step, we'll be contacting you to get that information so that we don't send your plants too early or too late!
Below you can see the shipping boxes and containers that we are using. This year, we shifted down from a 3.5" pot to a 1.5" pot for mail order to make room for more plants in each box.

8 plants will fit in each side of the small box.
