Cherry Tomato Plants
Below you will find a listing of the many tomatoes that fall into the "Cherry " class. Typically, this group are just plain goof-proof. Even a "bad" gardener will do just fine providing a few requirements are met: primarily a good, sunny spot and a reasonably good soil. Add water and periodically a shot of fertilizer and Ka-Boom! An avalanche of delicious little nuggets in so many colors, shapes and flavors! In addition, the Cherry group handles our summer heat with very little trouble. When night temps start to stay at 80 degrees and above, pollination becomes difficult for many larger varieties. Often, the Cherries just keep chugging along, always willing to provide a handful of yummy fun.

Amethyst Cream
Ok, I absolutely loved this one- in fact, in the 2020 grow outs, it was a true stand out. First, there was the color and pattern. Pale yellowish white, almost translucent fruits typically had a star imprint across the top from the calyx creating an arresting visual that I do not often see. When I sold containers of mixed cherry types, this one always jumped out at you, perhaps more than any other variety. The flavor is on the mild side, sort of berry-like. Sweet and pleasing. The plant itself was strong and vining- always healthy and vigorous. This is an excellent one to grow on a cyclone type fence; just keep tying it up as it grows. I actually like to grow any Cherry in this manner. Makes for easy harvest and is fun to see them growing.

Barry's Crazy Cherry
Yellow
This is a super productive centiflora type. Simpy tons of little yellow fruit often times showing a slight point on the end of the rather oval fruit. Flavor is mild and good...not too sweet, not too tart. Easy to grow. You will find the masses of flowers quite pretty too, prior to the amazing clusters of fruit!

Baxter Bush Cherry
Red
Baxter has a slightly different growth habit. Sort of tight and not nearly as tall as most Cherries. They sort of stall at about 30" making them a great choice for container growing. Fruit is crack resistant with a middle of the road flavor. Not wildly sweet nor too sharp. Just right for people who like a "regular" flavored cherry. Overall, a good looking, easy to grow plant that is not going to give you headaches.

Be My Baby
Here is a red Cherry that has 3 odd parents: a large beefsteak Potato leaf, a red grape Cherry and a orange Cherry. Created in 1997, it has now been released by a small grower. Having a rich, sweet flavor, it is gaining traction among gardeners.

Bing Cherry
Beautiful marbled blue-red fruits that will knock you out! Ripen to deep red with blue shadowed shoulders. Flavor and production are great. One of the things I find remarkable about this variety is the fruit. When still unripe, nearly glows on the vine with the most remarkable color. I can't think of another that looks like this. Apparently there are now two strains of Bing Cherry. Periodically I will purchase seed from other, trusted sources and grow them out along with my strain. I do this to check for purity. Well, here is an example of why this is good for me to do. I had the other, non-blue strain. This new one I bought to compare, blew me out of the water. Why this amazing shade of blue in the unripe fruit? I did some research and found out about the two different strains. So, all my old strain seed was dumped over the fence into the pasture. The new, much bluer strain is the one I will now offer. I love it.

Black Cherry
Not often seen but, so worth it! Blackish/dusky purple red fruit with a complex flavor . One of the best! Heavy yields are the norm. This variety has been gaining huge popularity over the past few years.

Black Dragon
Dark Red Chocolate
A small plum style tomato that will dazzle you with its heavy production and terrific flavor! It also falls into the class of "black" tomatos. These are becoming the darlings of great chefs due to their rich flavor associated with this unusual pigmentation. Also, there IS the great name! Imagine pointing out this plant and telling a kid its name!

Black Opal
Another newcomer in the "black" class. I enjoy this one. Strong grower with great production of smaller sized fruit with big flavor. Easy grower. Plant and stand back!

Black Strawberry
Blue/red/gold indeterminate
Yet another of the blue introductions over the past decade. A simply beautiful variety that typical of the bluish class, tend to be a bit more on the tangy side. Great for those of you who are not a fan of the over-the-top sweet cherries. This one comes in at 1oz. which puts it on the larger end of cherry.

Black Zebra
Another work horse cherry. Faintly striped, darkish fruit are produced in abundance. I have grown this one for ages and it always steps up to the plate. Medium/vigorous growth habit. Good flavor typical of blackish varieties.

Blondkoptchen
Easier to remember the English name...Blonde Girl! This is a bright yellow fruited, smallish plant with big production! It has the Centiflor trait- masses of flowers! Easy to grow and well flavored. You should try it. suspect it would be a very good choice if you are a container grower. If heavily fertilized, this plant can attain good size.

Blueberries
This one will catch your eye! Starts out very dark purple, almost amethyst. When ripe, the shaded areas will be deep red where sun strikes. It will be so dark as to appear almost black. Amazing to see! In the past several years, this had to be one of the most productive cherries we grew.

Brad's Atomic Grape
Multi-shaded
Ok, so maybe you have seen this one on garden sites online as it has been promoted heavily. I can honestly tell you that the photos seem absurdly doctored up. The colors seen in these photos are silly, like a crayola box exploded. In real life, these oblong 2' fruits are very interesting with their stripes and speckles. There are various shades of purplish black overlaid on a lighter, often yellowish color. Fun for sure. The plant growth is reasonably restrained. The flavor is pretty good too. Not tipping the scales either way in sweet or tart. Yes, it is very worthwhile to grow for all its novel features. Give one a try and see what all the fuss is about. This one was created by Brad Gates, as in Wild Boar Farms.

Brown Berry
I used to grow Brown Berry quite a bit back in the day. With the development of so many fun and unique varieties I sort of forgot about this one. What a bland name....Brown Berry.... just does not inspire you. So, I happened to pull some old, long ignored seed out of the refrigerator, heck, I think it was 10 years old, and planted it. It came right up! I sold a few and planted the rest. Sometimes you just gotta' kick yourself for being so dumb. What a yummy little guy this one is.
Easy, not too wild-growing plants, produce a good crop of perfect sized and perfect flavor fruit. Guess what color it is?

Cafe Bule'
What an fancy-schmancy name for an unassuming little brown grape tomato! But you know what? It was a rock star! This well - mannered plant simply chugged out tons of perfect little fruit. 2020 was the first year I had grown it and it will continue to be on my "must plant" list for my Farmers market's sales. Flavor is good, production is great and the color- though not AMAZING, was pleasing to look at. I liked the growth habit, too. It's on the smaller side and tight. It also produced over a long period. As I recall, I yanked these plants out along with the others in the garden that had played out for the year. Amazingly, Cafe Bule' was still loaded with fruit!

Centiflor Red
Red
This is one of those amazing varieties that carry the centiflor trait. When they bloom it is simply remarkable. Tons and tons of flowers open nearly all at once. At times, it can look like some weird tomato flower bouquet! Then, of course, the production begins! Loads of fruit that sometimes seem impossible. Tasty standard sized cherries in a bright red shade. I always am impressed with these centiflor varieties. You should try one to see what the fuss is all about!

Chadwick Cherry (syn. Camp Joy Cherry)
Red
Want a big cherry on a big plant? Check this one out. Chadwick gets big...a fun one to plant on a cyclone fence and tie up as it grows. Healthy and disease resistant, you will be picking bucket loads of large sized balanced flavored fruit. This is a big, classic cocktail cherry that you will have success with.

Cherry Fountains hybrid
Sometimes I spend a lot of money on hybrid seed to offer all the terrific disease resistance and production hybrids offer. With the cherry class, it is not typically needed. The open pollinated forms are often as productive and disease resistant. Once in a while though, a cherry comes along that has some particular merit that will make me spend the big bucks. Cherry Fountains is one of them. Why? It is a cascading, porch variety that can dazzle you with it's atypical growth habit. Put this one in a pot and let it simply spill over the edge of the pot and be ready for the amazing production of red fruit. You might also consider using it in a large mixed pot. I have seen this one used that way and it is quite lovely. It also is a great hanging basket variety. I see garden centers putting tomatos in hanging baskets and it is disgusting looking. Even worse, those Topsy-Turvy planters that force a tomato plant to grow upside down (chills run down my spine). They use varieties that are simply not suited. Cherry Fountains is what you want. Give this little flowing power-house a shot on your deck.

Cherry Roma
Cherry sized Romas!! I have seen these pop up in the grocery stores lately. Just the coolest little tomato, I think. Heavy clusters of these little fruit will keep you well supplied. We have grown them for years and they always manage to do just fine.

Chocolate Cherry
Deep rosy purple, sweet and juicy but with the old fashioned flavor many seek. Very elegant little cherry! This one always gets a lot of praise.

Chocolate Pear
Expect good crops of pear- shaped little tomatoes. The color is actually brick-red with swirls of green and brown. Very unusual and tasty. More oval-shaped than little pear.

Red-brown pear shaped fruit is a fun addition to the pear class. Like all pear tomatoes, you can assume you will have a great harvest of tasty little garden snacks!

Clackamas Blueberries
Blue
I have grown this one for about 8 years or so. It was one of the earlier blues to show up and is still one of the best of its sort. Tons of fruit with deep bluish kind of black shoulders above a brick- red bottom. Color can be quite variable depending how much sun strikes the fruit. The flavor is typical of blue cherries - more on the sharp side without a lot of over - the top sweetness. You will often notice the plant will have a deep bluish cast to the stems. I can usually spot a blue cherry plant out in the field among all the others simply by the odd color of the plant itself.

Coyote
Yellow
I have been aware of Coyote for a long time, but in the arena of a million varieties of terrific cherries, I simply overlooked it. A customer of mine in Dallas said that I simply MUST offer this one as it was a monster producer of disease resistant, delicious yellowish/ivory colored fruit. Seems I recall she was involved in community gardens in Ft.Worth and this one has really performed when others have crashed. So, I listened and here it is!
Coyote was originally a wild Mexican variety. Introduced in 1990, it is here to stay. You can expect trusses of 1/2 inch fruit with the sweet flavor that is often found in these land races.

Dancing With Smurfs
This is always a big hit at the Farmers market's for us! Small and quite blue fruit when sun strikes the growing fruit. Even the plant is dusky bluish colored! Great mixed with other cherry types in a salad! Daughter Karyn LOVED this one in her Illinois garden. Strong grower, it will be noticeable in the garden. Over the years, this remains one of our most popular. This is one of the early blue strains of Tomato and I am glad I have held onto it and am in the process of re-selecting for good color. Seems to have become rather scarce.

Early Bush Cherry
This is a great choice for those of you who like cherries but don't appreciate the rampant growth that most cherries exhibit. Can be grown in a container or in the garden, it is comfortable both ways. Typical good, red fruit.

Egg Yolk
The name of this variety gags me, but I have a lot to say about it. Here is the thing- when ripe, it actually IS egg yolk color! Not just yellow, it is a rich deep pure yellow. Now, initially I figured this would be just another ho-hum yellow cherry (which I might add, I am a fan of). In fact, I even planted it in an area of the garden that has rather poor soil- I just did not care much about it. From time to time, I would walk down the row and notice how healthy and dense it was. Then....drum-roll...it started. This thing is a MACHINE! You hear me often say "good producer" in regards to a variety. That term would be a true understatement. Holy cow! I felt like this plant was punishing me for being flip about it by throwing pounds of fruit at me. I stand corrected!
After this first year, I decided that if I were able to only grow one yellow cherry, I think Egg Yolk would be it. No, it is not the most dainty little yellow cherry you can grow (fruit is about small ping pong ball size) but boy, it sure is good. Not only that, but the plant is super healthy. This one is a keeper in my list for sure!

Emerald Green Cherry
This is a kind of weird plant. The foliage is different, seems more "roundish" than normal and the plant is somewhat leggy. And then there is the fruit- it is green. Imagine that? Sometimes I think I will not grow it anymore. I walk by it, sneer at it and yank a fruit off of it.....and then am reminded why it stays in my collection. Guess what? It is delicious. Enough said.

Fahrenheit Blues
A bunch of years ago, I got the seed for this strain; it was an early blue, like Dancing With Smurfs. It was an unusual plant, wispy and not very vigorous. The plant itself showed quite a bit of blue under its vaguely fuzzy stems and leaves. The fruit was very blue too with a good flavor that I had not found in those early blue varieties. Lenny loved this one! So, the years roll by- no problems. Then, in 2020 I am planting and I realize the seed is...gone! One of our more popular kinds and it has vanished! I knew that Farenheit had seemed to become unavailable in the intervening years so I was worried. I ran a search and found seed (thankfully) from the same supplier I had gotten it from originally. Problem solved. It arrived, I planted it and then....it is not the same! When you grow as many varieties as I do, you can spot, even as seedling, certain kinds as being correct. This was NOT Farenheit. I glumly planted them, kicking myself for having lost the "good" ones. In the garden, these imposters were beasts. Big, wild and healthy plants and not blue...not the sickly cute little bluish tinted foliage Farenheits I had always grown. Then the production started and WOW! Tons of little blue shaded fruit with quite good flavor started coming in by the bucket fulls. There were even some plants that produced fruit with a more yellow background- quite attractive. In the mean time, one day, very late, Lenny handed me the seed from the first strain of Fahrenheit. She never 'fessed up what happened.
So, I now have both, strain 1 (original) and strain 2 (the imposter-beast). I like them both. Specify which you want in the comments section when placing an order.

Fargo Yellow Pear
This is a cross between ordinary yucky Yellow pear with Bison...a red, full flavored canning tomato done back in 1934. This created Fargo- a slightly larger, totally better flavored Yellow Pear. At about 1 oz, it is nearly twice as big as the detestable Yellow Pear we find for sale everywhere. Give this one a shot if you have always grown the one that tastes like dog fur (yellow Pear). I think you will like it better!

Fat Cherry
Hi! My name is Fat Cherry. Yes, I am the boring red Cherry Tomato everybody knows, has grown forever, and produces loads of red golf balls. Tim makes fun of people who buy me, but I have seen him sneaking around and, when nobody is looking, eating my fruit like it is candy. Just ignore him when he rolls his eyes at you. We all know the truth...I am a classic!

Flaming Burst
Another great yellow cherry. Yeah, I offer a lot of them in this color and probably I will start to eliminate some in the future, but for now, this is a great one to try. This is a big, sprawling plant. Pin it to a fence and let her run wild. You will be rewarded with a mountain of sweet, bright yellow nuggets that will make you smile. Easy and has a long production.

Frosted Green Doctors
I have grown Frosted Green Doctors for years. It is a rare strain. You can sometimes still find Green Doctors, but not the frosted form. Frosted refers to the fact that the skin on this strain is nearly translucent. This baby can crank out huge amounts of really nice flavored, pure green fruit. The plant is always healthy and productive. I am glad I have kept this variety over the years. You ought to give this one a shot if you want to be different! Btw... In the past couple years, this one has been getting a lot of attention from tomato fans in publications after languishing on the backburner for ages.

Why so many names for the same tomato? I suppose it is so good, many people have tried to lay claim to it! It was first introduced from a German seed company in the 50's and it continues to go strong today. This one is very sweet, the kind I tend to like. This is a big cherry, classic - sized on a very big plant. Plant it and then step back and let it do its thing! The skin is somewhat delicate so if big rains are coming, go out and gather these sweet babies so they do not crack. Plant is robust and healthy.

Gardeners' Sweetheart
I was glad to get a hold of a small amount of this seed. It is hard to find due to the fact that it is a new variety and was introduced by Will Bonsall, a small grower. I was happy to pay a royalty on it to help support him. Anyway, this one is unique! This is a heart - shaped Cherry! Now, add a tough exterior (no cracking and long lasting on the kitchen counter) and a sweet interior and I think we have a winner here! It is red (of course!!). Due to the strong skin, this one would be terrific as a shish kabob! Be sure to let this one stay on the vine until deep, dark red. You gotta' admit, it is kind of cute.

Godzilla

FREAK SHOW ALERT! You all know I like the weird stuff. This one rattles my cage! Perhaps you have grown Traveler listed above- the crazy little lumpy monster that you can peel segments apart. Well this, though similar, is better! It has mostly the same appearance but difference is the flavor. Whereas Traveler can often have a sour flavor due to the segments ripening at different rates, Godzillas' segments ripen all at once and the flavor is sweet and good! The process that creates the mutant little freak tomatoes is different between the two varieties. Seedlings start out normal but as they reach flowering age, the stems start to flatten out and sort of look mutated. Long time gardeners have probably seen this condition on other plants that can be caused by several other reasons. The cause of this (Faciation) in Godzilla is genetic. Anyway, picture a bunch of fused Cherries into a single cluster- this is Godzilla.

Hartman's Yellow Gooseberry
Holy cow, this thing can get huge! I had one a couple years ago that trailed 14 foot along the ground. If you want bucket loads of mid - sized yellow cherry tomatoes, this one's for you. No cracking, strong plant, huge yield, pretty fruit, what's not to love? The flavor is mild and sweet. My customers are beginning to notice Hartmans for good reasons.

Honey Drop
Yellow
This a new one. A descendant of the hybrid Sun Sugar, it has shown itself to be of remarkable flavor, super vigor with it's somewhat rampant growth! The flavor has been called fruity with a hint of white grapes. The color is Honey (imagine that! lol). Being a new variety, this one is still desegregating and will periodically produce a pinkish fruited plant which I think is quite pretty. In fact, I hear there is work being done to stabilize the pink form. I might do this myself.

Palest yellow
This is a terrific little white cherry....actually, a palest yellow. I am very partial to the yellow cherries. They are the sweetest and most delicate to me. These plants are good sized and easy to grow. I have grown this one for a lot of years and will continue to, even though frankly, some are rather redundant. Just a delicious cherry.

Indigo Blueberries
This one will raise eyebrows if you drop them in a salad! Beautiful almost blue/black with a brick - red bottom at full ripeness. Make a point to grow a blue form of Cherry- it is so fun to mix it with all the other colors when you serve them. This one is an amazing producer, probably one of the most impressive we have run across. Even when growing in our greenhouse in winter, this one rocks!

Indigo Cherry Drops
This lovely new cocktail cherry, with its excellent sweet flavor, may just be the best-tasting Indigo yet! Round, 1" fruits have indigo shoulders with rosy undersides and deep red flesh. I think you will be quite impressed with the production. We certainly have.

Indigo Kumquat hybrid
This is such a beautiful one...and such a pain in the back side to grow. Not the plant...it is easy- smallish and well - behaved. The problem is the fruit itself. It is delicate and wants to split lengthwise once ripe. You really have to keep an eye on these beauties and pick them just before dead ripe. Once off the plant, you won't have this issue. Aside from that, the fruit itself is simply beautiful. Multi - shaded with both bold and subtle colors, it is a really satisfying one to grow. For those of you have grown Kumquats, it really does remind you of them in size and shape. Even though this one has issues in my garden, it may not in yours. Regardless, I will continue to grow this one for its unique appearance even though the seed is ridiculously expensive.

Indigo Rose
I like this one a lot- super productive and with its beautiful shading, I think you will, too. I am color blind and have difficulty seeing some colors but I could definitely detect the rose in this fruit. On the larger size of cherry, it can easily work as a salad tomato. The flavor was well - balanced too, not super sweet like a lot of the cherries are. I have noticed this is typical with all the Indigo series. Easy to grow and medium in vigor. This is the "mother" of many of the blue tomatos these days. If my memory serves me, this was the first blue to be released by the University of Oregon.

orangeish red
This is actually a bi-colored...orangy red and lightly striped, often having a faint star pattern on the blossom end. Many people say this is the sweetest tomato they have grown. It has a fan base so who am I to argue?

Ivory Pear
white
Rare, pale, almost translucent ivory colored pear shaped tomatoes. Expect heavy crops. Such a good, reliable producer of little gems. Strong plant too. This one always gets overlooked. This is a shame because when it comes to vigor, production and fine flavor, it can't be beat. Each year when I grow this, It stuns me that I cant seem to interest anybody in it UNLESS they saw it the year before in my garden! It is a powerhouse!

Jackie
You know, I have had Jackie for some years and though I always grew and sold it, I did not pay much attention to it. I can't give you a reason I neglected it- I just did. I got the seed from the breeder of this variety (Double Helix in Conroe, Arkansas) and as I recall, it was named for his mother. Sadly, Double Helix is gone. The breeder was doing some nice work and this is an example of it. So, why did I pay attention to it in 2020? Because it is hands down the best tasting cherry I grew this year. Not only that, but it is a blue class cherry. It is uniquely colored-different from the Indigo series that seems to predominate these days. I don't know how I missed the qualities in this one, but I have seen the light! Now, you should give this one a try. See if you agree with me. Very easy to grow, and pretty rambunctious. You should have plenty to pick!

This is a super productive grape style red. A hybrid, it will pour out its little delicious fruit in bucket fulls. We like this one a lot which is why I continue to pay so much for this seed lol. Excellent disease resistance.

Juliette Hybrid
This is one of the few hybrid cherries I offer. Typically, the benefits of hybrid forms of cherry are lost on the home gardener. It is more for the commercial greenhouse grower who needs super consistency. Juliette, however, has a huge following in the home grower market and for very good reason. A grape tomato, Juliette has a good, sweet flavor and amazing production. There is a lot of vigor in this variety- treat it right and it runs you over!
One year, I did not order Juliette seed- it is expensive and I was probably broke at that moment. I did not think anybody would notice. Well, one grouchy old man, probably about 140 years old, dropped by to pick up his beloved Juliettes and I had to tell him I did not have them. I was pretty sure he was going to give me a severe ass whoopin'. He yelled at me and I think he was about to take a swing at me when I reminded him I had plenty of Jellybeans for him to plant. He calmed down a bit, grabbed his flat of Big Boys and a couple of Jellybeans and marched off..all the while mumbling that I better have Juliette next year, or else! Yes Sir, duly noted! Maybe you ought to find out why Mr. Cheerful so loves Juliette!

Mexico Midget
One of my favorite reds- small and jewel like, you will be stunned with the production. Very sweet, almost candy like to me! My Daughter Karyn, who lives in Illinois, tried this one (along with many others) and loved it. I believe this is mostly a wild strain. Seems everyone who visits the gardens here tastes it and thinks it is amazing. Nice big rambling vines will give you tons of these little marvels. Children seem to be drawn to them here at the farm.

Mini Orange
I have always liked Mini Orange. Seems I don't see orange in cherry tomatos all that often. Anyway, this is a healthy grower, but not rampant like many of the cherry class. The flavor is sweet and rich. Just a good solid producer of tasty little jewels. I used to sell a lot of these, but somehow, over the years, I lost this strain. I am glad to have it back and to be able to offer it to you.

I sell a lot of these, they are just kinda' fun to grow. Similar to Cherry Roma, but just different enough for me to continue to grow them. Productive, easy to grow big plants will give you plenty to eat! Mild with a fairly typical flavor.

Very rare black cherry tomato that will make you look twice! Mauvish-black fruit has a very complex and rich flavor- a trait that seems to be very typical in the "black" class of tomatoes. I did notice when grown down in the Victoria, TX area (I grow some down there too) it was somewhat more pinkish. Temperature often alters the color of tomatoes. A very productive and nice to grow.

Orange Centiflor
The centiflor trait, when you see it, really makes you do a double-take. What I am referring to is the cluster of flowers. We all know what the normal cluster looks like- perhaps 6 or so blossoms per stem. Picture a total bouquet of flowers per stem! Often a hundred or more- it is kind of amazing to see, at least to those of us who grow tomatoes. Not every flower will set (the plant might crash to the ground with the weight of all those fruit!) but you will still get a huge cluster. This is a cross of the great Sungold and Centiflor Red. Vigor and a ton of tasty orange bite sized little cherries. What more can you ask for? There are a couple other Cherry types we grow that have the centiflor trait. I always forget which ones until I see them blooming each year. Very striking to see!

Pearly Pink
Pink
This is a nice cherry with terrific flavor. The fruit are rather oblong with a nice, bright pink. Not hard to grow at all. First recorded in 1980, I am not sure if this is a modern tomato variety or an old timer, but whatever the case, it is well worth growing and super productive!

Pink Bumblebee
The name is as cute as the fruit! Truly stunning little fruit- bright pink with golden orange striping. When we grew this one for the market, people ALWAYS went for it first! High, sweet flavor makes this newish variety a winner. Be sure to add at least one of the Bumblebees to your garden this year, you will be glad you did.

Pink Snow
Pretty, pink - tinted grape style fruits; pink is rare in grape shaped tomatoes. Nice, sweet flavor, borne in clusters. This is a remarkably strong growing plant. It just reeks of health all season in our garden.

Green
This one is a fairly recent introduction from a young farmer in the Northeast. It appeared probably as a stable mutation. What sets this one apart is its outstanding flavor. Not over sweet like many cherries but instead a sweet but very balanced flavor. Don't be put off by the concept of green tomatoes. Some of the very best tomatoes in the world are green when ripe. Just take the plunge and give one a shot. You will thank me.

Principe Borghese
This Cherry is most notable for the fact that it is a good choice for making your own sun dried tomatoes! Low in juice and high in flavor, this would make a fun project to try. Cut the fruit in half, place it on a screen and put in full Sun for a few days. Lots of directions on the internet. You can expect heavy production!

Purple Bumblebee
This little cherry is unique. Overall, the color is dark. Up close you will see swirls of green and bronzy purple. Its flavor is kind of unique too, sweet but complex. Very pretty and fun to grow. Like most cherry types, you will have superb production. This one is popular at the market for us. Also one of my garden-snaking favorites! Seems no matter what, Purple Bumblebee always does a great job in the garden.

Maroon red with green elements
This is a cross between San Marzano paste and Black Cherry done by, and introduce by Toadstool Gardens of Minnesota. It is shaped similar to a paste tomato but smaller and more elegant and has a distinct point on the end. Not really a cherry sized fruit or as big as a typical paste but just the right size for snacking or salad use.

Shenghaung Cherry
Red
Hailing from the Zhengjiang province of China, this family heritage variety was sent from a farmer to the USA in 2001. Cherry tomatoes are too sweet for some people; I never quite "get" that! For those people who want a balanced flavor, this would be an excellent candidate to grow in your garden. Instead of being a typical ball of sugar, these have a bit of zing in them! You will get tons pf perfect 1 inch red cocktail cherries from this plant. Nice, healthy vigorous growth.

Snow White
This is probably the most delicious little white cherry you will eat. It is also possibly one of the most delicate you will ever grow. They are so fragile that they crack when you pick them. So, pretty much this is a delicacy you will simply enjoy while out in the garden. I am not exaggerating when I say they are a delicacy- they have an almost ethereal flavor. So sweet and almost perfumed.
The plant is big and easy to grow, producing tons of these amazing little beauties. If you want to "pick" them to bring inside, use a scissors and snip the long cluster. Then, each day just pluck off the ripe ones. In spite of it being a difficult to harvest type, I would not be without it.

This one is a currant type tomato...super tiny like Tess and Sweet Pea. Yeah, it looks like them, but tastes like a cockroach. Why do I keep offering it? Because customers really like it! I don't know what the deal is, but perhaps it is my soil or bad attitude, but I think it is simply yuck. So anyway, as I said, it is super tiny and cute. The color is red and growth is fairly rampant. I am told (!) the flavor is sweet and good. Pffft...lies I tell 'ya ... lies!

This is one of only a few hybrid cherries I offer. Tried and true, these long trusses of very sweet, disease resistant tomatos will never disappoint you. This variety has been around for a long time and many people swear by it. It certainly always performs here in my garden. The fruit size is slightly larger than sister varieties Sweet Million and Super Sweet.

Ok, this was the winner of the most fun tomato of the 2020 grow out. Because this is a wild type tomato, isolation is important to keep the seed strain pure. Wild types have a slightly different flower structure that allows for random crossing with other tomatos. Notice the photo and the fact that it seems up in the air. It was! I grew it out on our second story deck and what fun that was! This is by far the tiniest tomato we have ever grown WITHOUT the problems I have had with other Currant (small wild types) varieties. So, why was this such a fun one? To start, they start setting fruit often while still in the pot! I shipped a lot of these that had tomatos on them. From that point, they simply don't stop until they finally die! I enjoy these tiny types, but they usually have issues. First issue is that most often they crack really badly. Nearly every fruit is ruined before you can pick them. The second problem is flavor. Some are really good, great in fact- if you can get them before they crack. Then, some taste like the bottom of a bird cage. Sweet Pea is unique...it does not ever crack. The skin is firm, it almost pops when you first chew it. The flavor? Kinda' like a big tomato- not the super sweet taste I associate with Currant tomatos. Have a sunny spot on your deck? Try this one there. You can appreciate the beauty of these miniature jewels.
Red
Ok, this was the winner of the most fun tomato of the 2020 grow out. Because this is a wild type tomato, isolation is important to keep the seed strain pure. Wild types have a slightly different flower structure that allows for random crossing with other tomatos. Notice the photo and the fact that it seems up in the air. It was! I grew it out on our second story deck and what fun that was! This is by far the tiniest tomato we have ever grown WITHOUT the problems I have had with other Currant (small wild types) varieties. Tess's Land Race
Red
Tess is actually a close cousin of the typical garden tomato. In the class of Currant tomatoes, expect tons of tiny, super sweet little fruit. The plant looks slightly different too, softer and very rampant growing, almost like a vine. Fruit is produced on long, loose clusters. Be aware that this fruit is very delicate and prone to cracking after a rainstorm. Big-time chefs in fancy restaurants demand these for garnishes. Fun to grow, give one a try. Tess, along with Sweet Pea above, are the best of the Currant types I grow. I continue to try news ones as they become available.

Tiny Tim micro dwarf
Red cherry
This a fun little plant. A micro dwarf, it is great in a pot. Put a couple into a 8-10 inch pot along with good potting soil, fertilizer and, 6+ hours of direct sun. It will actually surprise you with its production. The fruit itself is quite good, something I would not have expected and it is normal cherry sized. The plant itself is rather dense and bushy- pretty in its own way. These plants reach about 12 inches before stalling out and branching. One other thing I noticed was that generally a determinate growing plant sets fruit and dies. These do not. They seem to just side branch and keep going.

White Cherry
pale yellow
Palest yellow, almost white, super sweet little fruit that will knock you out with production. I have always been a fan of this one. There never seems to be a moment that White Cherry is not loaded with fruit. For whatever reason, it is my go-to in the garden when I feel like munching while working in the garden.

White Currant
pale yellow
This little guy is a trouper! Years ago I bought this seed (and as far as I can tell, it is no longer available) and really enjoyed it. The following year I realized it had been discontinued from the supplier and I was angry I had not saved any seed. Too bad, right? Wrong. Remarkably, a couple years later, a seedling appeared on the side of my house. Normally, I would have simply pulled it out and never thought of it again. This little thing escaped my notice and began to grow along the ground. Once I finally did see it, this thing was now a monster, creeping and climbing all over everything. Intrigued, I left it alone. One day I went around the house and saw it was my delightful White Currant tomato! Seemingly, millions of tiny pale yellow fruit covered this plant. I made a mental note to collect seed. As is typical of me, I procrastinated...for 10 years. Each year a new generation would show up, usually near the side of the house. One year, it ended up in an old burn pile sort of in the middle of my yard. I could no longer ignore it. Each time I mowed around this area, there it was, right in my face, covered in fruit. Anyway, this one is a great, very small, usually a bit bigger than a dime, palest yellow sweet fruited winner. I have never really seen any disease on it, looks strong right up until a hard freeze. Obviously, it is bullet proof considering in all these years, each generation has never been watered, much less fertilized. In spite of the name, I do not believe this to be an actual Currant Tomato, which is a slightly different species. It is instead, just a very tiny true Tomato. Very similar to Snow White, another one that I really love.

Yellow Plum
Old heirloom with yellow somewhat pear shaped fruit. 1-1/2" size in large clusters. Bright, beautiful and sweet. This is a work horse in the garden. It just seems to produce and produce on a rather small sized plant. I have grown this one for years and nobody ever buys it, but I like it and I keep growing it for sale. Someday, I swear, I will sell one!

Yellow Submarine
I haven't a clue where the "submarine" part comes into play, BUT certainly if you want a yellow grape shaped cherry with outstanding flavor, you will want Yellow Submarine. A full flavored little firecracker. This is an excellent replacement for the horrid "Yellow Pear". Nearly impossible to find anymore, you should give this a try. You will also notice this is a Potato leaf cultivar. Update: I have, after years of growing these and wondering about the name, could it be named after that weird submarine from the Beatles Movie? Huhmmm...must contemplate.
